Round 12 search and rescue groups of the NDRF have been deployed in Jorhat, Bongaigaon, Kamrup Metro, Dhubri, Barpeta, Goalpara, Golaghat, Cachar, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Dhemaji and Tinsukia. The NDRF management room can also be retaining a detailed watch in different flood-affected areas.
The United Nations has stated that it is able to help flood-hit Assam. “Our humanitarian colleagues inform us that just about four million individuals have been displaced in Assam in India and neighbouring Nepal on account of heavy floods…the UN stands able to help the Authorities of India if required,” Stephane Dujarric, Spokesman for the world physique chief stated.
