The federal government on Wednesday mentioned it has allowed the export of 4 crore surgical masks and 20 lakh medical goggles each month, weeks after giving a nod to the month-to-month export of 50 lakh models of PPE (private safety tools) medical coveralls.
“Following PM Modi’s mantra of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, in a call to advertise Make in India and industrial progress, govt permits export of four cr 2/three Ply surgical masks and 20 lakh medical goggles each month, together with restriction-free export of face shields,” Union Minister Piyush Goyal confirmed tweeted on Wednesday.

The Directorate Common of International Commerce (DGFT) mentioned that “month-to-month export quota of 50 Lakh models of Medical Coveralls for COVID-19, 20 lakh medical goggles has been permitted.”
All different objects which might be a part of PPE kits stay prohibited, it mentioned.
These things embody medical goggles, all masks aside from non-medical/non-surgical (cotton, silk, wool, polyester, nylon rayon, viscose – knitted, woven or blended); nitrile gloves and face defend.
