5 males have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping their 20-year-old buddy and making an attempt to extort ransom from his mother and father, Ghaziabad police stated on Thursday.

Vinay Shukla, a resident of Grasp Park in Khoda space of the district, had lodged a grievance of kidnapping of his son Saurabh, 20, on Wednesday evening. He obtained three cellphone calls concerning a ransom of Rs 15 lakh and knowledgeable police on the emergency ”Dial 112”, Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani instructed PTI.

An FIR was registered underneath Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 364A (kidnapping for ransom) and 507 (felony intimidation by an nameless communication), the SSP added.
