Gujarat, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Punjab have expedited land acquisition course of for the devoted freight corridors, days after Railway Minister Piyush Goyal wrote to 9 chief ministers, requesting them to clear hurdles within the challenge.
In his letter, Mr Goyal had informed the chief ministers that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was intently monitoring the progress of the Rs 81,000-crore challenge.
In a latest assembly, the Prime Minister’s Workplace had questioned the delay within the challenge, with its deadline being moved from December 2021 to June 2022.
Over the past seven days, the Railways has sorted out land acquisition points with these 5 states.
In Punjab, the Railways agreed to the state authorities’s proposal to permit it to borrow cash from the Devoted Freight Hall Company of India Restricted (DFCCIL) for the development of road-under bridges, whereas in sure areas of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, it has coordinated with native authorities to deploy police power to cope with regulation and order points.
In Punjab, the long-pending land possession points for highway underneath bridges and highway over bridges at three areas have been resolved, Railways officers stated, whereas land points for building of excessive pressure line at two areas had been resolved.
