The seven Indian nationals, who had been kidnapped in Libya, have been launched, the Indian ambassador to Tunisia stated.
The seven males hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, had been kidnapped from Asshwerif in Libya on September 14.
Indian envoy to Tunisia, Puneet Roy Kundal, confirmed the information of their launch to ANI.
India doesn’t have an embassy in Libya and the Indian mission in Tunisia takes care of the welfare of Indians in Libya.
On Thursday, India had confirmed that seven of its nationals had been kidnapped in Libya final month and that it was working to free them.
Spokesperson of Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) had stated that the kidnapped employees are secure and the Indian mission in Tunisia is in contact with the Libyan authorities for efforts to free them.
“Our Embassy in Tunisia, which handles issues referring to the welfare of Indian nationals in Libya, has reached out to the Libyan authorities authorities involved, as additionally the worldwide organisations current there, to hunt their assist in rescuing the Indian nationals. The employer has been contacted by the abductors and proven images as proof that the Indian nationals had been secure and conserving properly,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava stated in his weekly press convention.
