Agitated over alleged misbehaviour by a police officer, AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal on Monday submitted his resignation to Delhi Meeting Speaker, who didn’t settle for it and stated the police commissioner might be summoned within the subsequent session of the Home.

The MLA from Rithala stated the station home officer (SHO) misbehaved with him and he must be suspended. Mr Goyal stated if the officer isn’t suspended, he doesn’t need to be a member of the Home.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel didn’t settle for Mr Goyal’s resignation and guaranteed strict motion within the matter. He stated the Delhi Police commissioner might be summoned within the subsequent Meeting session.

The BJP legislators, together with Chief of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, supported Mr Goyal and his demand for motion in opposition to the police officer.

AAP MLA Raghav Chadha stated senior cops must be summoned earlier than a Committee of the Meeting.

A visibly agitated Mr Goyal wished to depart the Home however later relented after the Speaker and different members prolonged help to him.

The one-day session is being held with varied security measures in place in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
