Actor-politician Kamal Haasan immediately slammed Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK for supporting the three controversial farm payments and burdened the payments “assault the state’s autonomy”, and create a “harmful state of affairs whereby a state can do nothing amid shortage or value rise”. Mr Haasan urged President Ram Nath Kovind to return the payments, handed final week, to the parliament for dialogue.
“Chief Minister Edappadi Ok Palaniswami has betrayed Tamil Nadu farmers by supporting these payments,” Mr Haasan stated in an announcement, warning that farmers have the facility to bury the federal government.
Tamil Nadu goes to polls subsequent yr. AIADMK is an ally of the BJP, which leads the central authorities.
