A lady worker on the Aligarh Muslim College (AMU) has filed a case of sexual harassment in opposition to 4 males, together with a professor who had accused her son of assaulting him inside his workplace, officers mentioned on Wednesday.

The worker was transferred from one division to a different within the first week of August.

On August 10, the professor had filed an FIR in opposition to half a dozen males, together with the son of the girl worker, alleging that the lads had assaulted him with metal rods inside his workplace. The girl was additionally named within the FIR.

Circle officer, Civil Strains police station, Anil Samania mentioned the matter is below investigation as a cross case has been filed. The girl was herself booked on a cost of assaulting a professor at his workplace on August 10, he mentioned.

Mr Samania mentioned, “A case in opposition to 4 males has been registered on expenses of alleged sexual harassment.”

In her criticism, the girl has accused the 4 males of taunting her.

AMU spokesperon professor Shafay Kidwai mentioned following the assault on the trainer, the girl worker was suspended and an enquiry ordered in opposition to her son who allegedly led the assault.

He has been barred from getting into the campus pending enquiry, thr professor mentioned.

In a press release following the alleged incident of assault of the professor, AMU Proctor professor Mohammad Wasim Ali had mentioned, “We’ve got taken a really severe view of this incident since a professor was assaulted in full public view by goons who have been brandishing weapons and threatening to kill the professor for allegedly getting the girl worker transferred.”

A senior AMU official mentioned there are credible inputs, indicating that the girl worker earlier confronted expenses of dereliction of obligation and insubordination.
