Rangia, Assam:
A person drowned whereas six others swam to security when their boat capsized in a river in Assam’s Kamrup district on Monday, police stated.
The boat capsized when it was crossing a tributary of the Brahmaputra river close to the Sualkuchi textile city, they stated.
The person has been recognized as Aswini Nath from the Nalbari district, they added.
His physique was recovered by the locals and medical doctors on the Sualkuchi First Referral Unit declared him lifeless on arrival.
Mr Nath and the six others had been on the best way to attend the cremation of his father-in-law on the other financial institution of the river, officers stated.
