A suspected fuel explosion tore via a Bangladesh mosque killing no less than 12 folks whereas dozens suffered life-threatening burns, police stated Saturday.

Worshippers have been at Friday night prayers when the blast despatched a ball of flames via the mosque within the central district of Narayanganj, emergency providers stated.

Investigators suspected a spark from an air conditioner — which got here on after an influence lower — set off the fuel.

“Leaked fuel entered the mosque,” Narayanganj hearth chief Abdullah Al Arefin instructed AFP.
