Police lodged an FIR towards a sub-divisional Justice of the Peace (SDM) on Friday, a day after he was suspended for beating folks on the pretext of implementing a drive to put on face masks amid the continued COVID-19 pandemic.

A case was lodged towards SDM Ashok Chaudhary on the premise of a written grievance by Rajat Chaurasiya who alleged that the officer had thrashed and verbally abused him, SHO Ubhaon Police Station, Yogendra Bahadur Singh mentioned.

The matter is being investigated, the SHO mentioned.

Taking critical word of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had on Thursday suspended Chaudhary and connected him with the Income Board.

Within the grievance, Mr Chaurasiya alleged that he and his brother Ashu have been sitting inside a store on Chaukiya flip when the SDM reached there alongside together with his guards and began beating them and aslo used foul language.

He additionally claimed that the officer dragged them on the highway due to which his brother, who’s a B.Tech pupil suffered accidents.
