VIVO has pulled out because the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for this year’s edition, following backlash on social media. VIVO had paid Rs 2,199 crore for a five-year contract in 2018. The BCCI on Sunday had introduced that each one sponsors had been being retained, however VIVO pulled out following criticism on social media within the backdrop of the clashes between Indian and Chinese language troops in Ladakh in June. The Indian cricket board on Sunday had introduced that the 2020 season will be played from September 19 to November 10 within the United Arab Emirates.
Talking to PTI, an IPL Governing Council member on Sunday mentioned that each one sponsors had been retained for IPL 2020.
“All I can say is that each one our sponsors are with us. Hopefully you’ll be able to learn between the strains,” he advised PTI on situations of anonymity after Sunday’s assembly.
The IPL 2020 might be held at three venues within the UAE — Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi — topic to authorities approval.
