The gun-battle broke out after a joint workforce of J&Ok police and the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Power) got here beneath assault.
A senior police officer stated that the terrorists attacked a check-post in an try to grab weapons from policemen at Panthachowk, on the outskirts of Srinagar, late final night. The safety personnel retaliated and when the terrorists tried to flee, they had been chased and cornered in an adjoining neighbourhood.

That is the third main encounter within the final 36 hours in Kashmir; 10 terrorists have been killed since Friday night.
On Saturday, a soldier was killed within the line of responsibility and three terrorists had been shot lifeless in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Pulwama. The encounter broke out after safety forces launched a late-night anti-terror operation at Zadoora space within the south Kashmir district.
On Friday, four terrorists were killed in an encounter with the safety forces in Kiloora village of Shopian district. The police stated two of the 4 terrorists who died had been concerned within the kidnapping and killing of a panchayat member linked to the BJP.
“One terrorist surrendered. We’ve got taken him into custody and he can be handled as per regulation,” an officer had stated on Friday.
