A 31-year-old COVID-19 affected person allegedly died by suicide by leaping off the third flooring of a hospital constructing in Tripura on Saturday, the police mentioned.

The person, a resident of Muhuripur village in South Tripura district, was admitted to the state-run Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital on Friday after allegedly consuming poison, they mentioned.

He had examined optimistic for COVID-19 through the obligatory speedy antigen take a look at performed earlier than his admission to the hospital, authorities of the medical institution mentioned.

The person went to the third flooring of the hospital constructing and jumped off a window early on Saturday. He died on the spot, they mentioned.
