The COVID-19 state of affairs in Thane and adjoining areas in Mumbai Metropolitan Area is alarming and coordination amongst authorities businesses should be improved and testing numbers elevated to get on high of the disaster, senior BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis mentioned on Monday.

He was talking to reporters after a three-day tour of the area throughout which he visited Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan Dombivali, Mira Bhayander, Ulhasnagar and Panvel.

“Testing should be elevated and stories should come inside a day in order that well timed therapy can start. The state of affairs in MMR is alarming. I’ll submit a report of my observations throughout this tour to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray,” he mentioned.

As on Monday, Thane district has 42,420 COVID-19 instances, together with 1,268 deaths.

Thane metropolis has reported 10,731 coronavirus instances, Kalyan Dombivali-9,086, Navi Mumbai-7,793 Mira Bhayandar4,314, Ulhasnagar-2,810, Bhiwandi Nizampur-2,319, Ambernath2,200, Badlapur-973, and Thane rural-2,194.
