In his evaluation for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee, gave the film 3.5 stars out of 5 and he wrote: “Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Woman spares us the spectacle of ungainly chest-thumping. What it offers us as an alternative, and with out an excessive amount of showy flapping of the wings, is an efficient previous touching story of a lady who dared to interrupt free from her cage and fly away – a heroine we are able to cheer with out resorting to a blood-curdling struggle cry.”
