DJB vice-chairman Raghav Chadha despatched notices to central departments over water dues

Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Raghav Chadha right this moment stated the DJB has issued notices to a number of central authorities departments, together with Railways and Delhi Police, and municipal companies asking them to clear dues amounting to Rs 6,811 crore inside 30 days.

Addressing a press convention, Mr Chadha stated the notices have been additionally issued to the Central Public Works Division and the Delhi Improvement Authority between September 1 and September 15.

He stated the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the economic system onerous and governments throughout the nation have been dealing with monetary challenges.

“Is it crucial that these excellent dues are paid in order that the DJB can cope with the monetary challenges,” he stated.

“Railways owes Rs three,283 crore to the DJB for the providers supplied by it…the Delhi Police is but to pay payments value Rs 614 crore, whereas CPWD has to clear dues amounting to Rs 190 crore,” Mr Chadha stated.

“The DDA owes Rs 128 crore, East Delhi Municipal Company Rs 49 crore, North Delhi Municipal Company Rs 2,466 crore and South Delhi Municipal Company Rs 81 crore,” the DJB vice-chairman stated.
