Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday directed the state residence division to take fast disciplinary motion and switch ten police males for partying on a cruise ship in violation of lockdown and curfew, the Chief Minister’s Workplace stated.

A neighborhood vernacular newspaper had revealed a report on July six with images of a gaggle of officers partying on a cruise ship on river Brahmaputra in Guwahati towards lockdown and curfew norms.

“As per course of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the state residence division has initiated disciplinary motion for switch of the law enforcement officials who took half in an evening occasion in a cruise over River Brahmaputra violating the lockdown and curfew norms within the metropolis”, in response to an announcement issued by the CMO.

The division has initiated steps for switch of 1 Deputy Commisioners of Police (DCP), 4 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), two Officers in Cost of Police stations, two Sub-Inspectors and one Assistant Sub-Inspector of the town police, who took half within the occasion, the assertion added.

Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna in a letter to Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, had directed him to inquire into the matter, submit a report and provoke disciplinary proceedings with intimation to the chief secretary.

“Additionally it is directed that policemen beneath your command could also be informed to scrupulously observe orders issued by the federal government and never show actions that are detrimental to the rule of the regulation”, the chief secretary stated.
