A farmer was arrested on Monday in Indore in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly capturing lifeless a canine after getting enraged over its steady barking close to his home, police stated.

The accused, Pankaj Shukla, used his licenced gun to shoot the canine on Saturday, an official stated.

On the idea of a criticism from Priyanshu Jain, native unit president of NGO Individuals for Animals, Mr Shukla was arrested beneath numerous sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Indian Penal Code, stated Banganga police station in cost Rajendra Soni.

“Shukla used his licenced gun to shoot the animal on Saturday, and the firearm and two empty cartridges have been recovered. We’re writing to the district administration to cancel Mr Shukla’s gun licence,” Soni stated.

Mr Shukla informed police that the canine used to bark close to his dwelling and it had bitten a number of individuals, although he couldn’t give names or some other particulars of such incidents, he stated.
