A 44-year-old man, sacked from the Delhi Transport Division in 2005 on corruption fees, was arrested for allegedly attempting to extort cash from a supply individual by impersonating a policeman, officers stated on Saturday.

The accused has been recognized as Subash Chander, a resident of Loni in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, they stated.

On July 23, one Rajat Kumar, a resident of Loni, lodged a criticism, stating that he works with a meals supply app. After delivering meals in Pandav Nagar, he was returning on his bike by way of DDU Marg, a senior police officer stated.

“Police analysed the CCTV footage and arrested Subhash Chander,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sanjay Bhatia stated.
