Former Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy desires to return to energetic politics in Bengal. (File)

Former Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy, who has expressed his need to return to energetic politics in West Bengal, on Sunday stated that he desires to rejoin the BJP inside a few days.

Mr Roy, a former West Bengal BJP president, had earlier stated that he’s keen to simply accept any position the get together entrusts him with.

“I’ll meet the state president (Dilip Ghosh) with regard to my becoming a member of the get together, which I count on to do inside a few days,” Mr Roy stated on the NSC Bose Worldwide Airport in Kolkata after arriving from Shillong.

The Meeting polls are due in West Bengal in April or Could subsequent 12 months.

Mr Roy was the state BJP president from 2002 to 2006 and a member of the get together’s nationwide government between 2002 and 2015.

He was appointed because the governor of Tripura in Could 2015 and later took over because the governor of Meghalaya in August 2018.

Satya Pal Malik, who succeeded Roy, was sworn in on August 19.
