Italy’s Filippo Ganna gave the Ineos group a lift on Wednesday with a breakaway win within the fifth stage of the Giro d’Italia by way of the southern Calabria area. Ineos misplaced their lead rider Geraint Thomas to a broken pelvis on Tuesday, and subsequently promised to focus on stage wins as an alternative of the general standings.
