Democrat Joe Biden warned on Tuesday that “the forces of darkness” are dividing People, stressing that as president he would attempt to “finish the hate and concern” consuming the nation.
“The forces of darkness, the forces of division, the forces of yesterday are pulling us aside, holding us down and holding us again,” Biden stated in a speech in Gettysburg, website of a well-known US Civil Conflict battle and inspirational second inaugural handle by president Abraham Lincoln.
“We can’t and won’t enable extremists and white supremacists to overturn the America of Lincoln and (abolitionists) Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass, to overturn the America that has been a haven and a house for everybody irrespective of their background,” he added.
