Former India Participant SR Patil Dies At 86

Former India participant Sadashiv Raoji Patil, who represented the nation in a single Check match, died at his residence in Kolhapur on Tuesday. He was 86 and is survived by spouse and two daughters. “He died in his sleep within the early hours on Tuesday at his residence in Ruikar Colony in Kolhapur,” Ramesh Kadam, a former workplace bearer of Kolhapur District Cricket Affiliation, informed PTI. Patil, who was a tempo bowling all-rounder, performed a Check match towards New Zealand in 1955.

He did not get any extra possibilities to play for the nation.

Patil performed 36 First Class matches for Maharashtra from 1952-1964, scoring 866 runs and taking 83 wickets.

He had additionally captained Maharashtra within the Ranji Trophy.
