Bankura:

A 62-year-old member of the previous Malla royal household of West Bengal’s Bishnupur shot himself lifeless on Saturday, police mentioned.

Salil Singh Thakur shot himself within the head along with his licensed pistol within the royal palace in Bankura district’s Bishnupur within the morning. He died on the spot, they mentioned.

Listening to the gunshot, the housemaid rushed to Salil Singh Thakur’s room and located him mendacity in a pool of blood and knowledgeable the opposite family members, an officer of the Bishnupur police station mentioned.

Salil Singh Thakur’s neighbours claimed he was affected by despair on account of his bodily illnesses, he mentioned.

An investigation is underway to determine the rationale behind the suicide, the officer mentioned.
