4 Maoists had been killed and a Particular Operation Group (SOG) jawan was injured, following an encounter at Kalahandi-Kandhamal border, the Odisha Police stated on Wednesday.

As per the police, the alternate of fireplace occurred at 11 am after a workforce of Particular Operations Group (SOG), District Voluntary Pressure (DVF) when subjected to heavy firing by Maoists. It lasted for half an hour.

“On the premise of dependable intelligence enter, an operation was launched on September eight in Kalahandi alongside Kandhamal border, by Kalahandi police. Two composite groups of SOG and DVF participated on this operation. An alternate of fireplace occurred within the morning on Wednesday round 11.00 AM,” it stated.

“On this alternate of fireplace, 4 Maoists have been neutralized and one SOG Jawan has been injured. The injured Jawan is being evacuated. Extra groups of SOG, DVF, and CRPF have been despatched to the world for combing and search operation,” the Odisha Police knowledgeable.

Based on the police, about 2 SLR and three international locations made Rifles are recovered from the spot, together with different ammunition and personnel belongings of Maoists, the police added.
