Russia on Sunday accused Germany of stalling efforts to probe opposition politician Alexei Navalny’s case after Berlin demanded Moscow present an evidence over his poisoning or face sanctions.

Russian overseas ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused German authorities of failing to reply to a request by Russian prosecutors despatched on August 27.

She spoke after German International Minister Heiko Maas mentioned Russia should quickly present an evidence over Navalny’s poisoning with Novichok, a banned nerve agent developed within the Soviet Union.
