India on Thursday hit out at Pakistan for elevating the Kashmir situation at a digital assembly of multilateral grouping CICA, and suggested Islamabad to stop its “overt and covert” help to cross-border terrorism.
In a pointy response, the Ministry of Exterior Affairs stated Pakistan has misused one other discussion board by persevering with its “spurious narrative” about India.
Pakistan raised the Kashmir situation on the ministerial assembly of the Convention on Interplay and Confidence Constructing Measures in Asia (CICA), an intergovernmental discussion board of 27 nations.
Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar represented India on the assembly.
The MEA stated Pakistan has no locus standi to touch upon inside affairs of India, asserting that the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been and can stay an integral a part of the nation.
“Pakistan’s remarks right now represent gross interference in India’s inside affairs, sovereignty and territorial integrity which is inconsistent with the CICA Declaration on the Rules Guiding Relations between the CICA Member States of September 1999,” the MEA stated, in response to remarks by Pakistan Overseas Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
It stated Pakistan is the “international epicentre” of terrorism and continues to be the supply of terrorist actions in India.
“We advise Pakistan to stop its sponsorship and overt and covert help to terrorism towards India. This may allow the 2 nations to have interaction and tackle points bilaterally moderately than distract this necessary discussion board from its agenda,” the MEA stated.
