A 40-year-old farmer in Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani district allegedly died by suicide as he was being harassed by an area moneylender from whom he had taken a small mortgage, police stated.

His household stated the farmer, Dinesh Parmar, had taken a mortgage of Rs 1,30,000 from a moneylender and had already paid Rs three lakh after promoting his land. The moneylender, nonetheless, had been pressuring him to pay Rs eight lakh extra, they stated.
