Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda on Sunday took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Mr Gowda, 87, was in June elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. That is the primary time that the JD(S) chief has grow to be a member of the Higher Home since 1996.
When the Home met for the day, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu referred to as for oath-taking by newly elected members.
After taking oath in Kannada, Gowda greeted the chair with folded arms.
Mr Naidu remarked that he’s a “good addition to our Home”.
“Former prime minister and one of many senior-most leaders of our nation has come to our Home,” he stated.
