Hong Kong Police Makes First Arrest Under Controversial New Security Law

Hong Kong:

A person present in possession of a Hong Kong independence flag grew to become the primary particular person to be arrested below Beijing’s new nationwide safety legislation for town, police mentioned Wednesday.

“A person was arrested for holding a #HKIndependence flag in #CausewayBay, Hong Kong, violating the #NationalSecurityLaw,” police wrote on their verified Twitter account alongside an image of the person and the flag.

“That is the primary arrest made because the legislation has come into power,” the power added.
