India on Thursday slammed Pakistan for its “blatant try and politicise” the working of the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee after Islamabad’s transfer to get 4 Indian nationals added to the sanctions listing was blocked by the UN Safety Council.
Pakistan had submitted the names of Angara Appaji, Gobinda Patnaik, Ajoy Mistry and Venumadhav Dongara for designation beneath the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Safety Council.
Nonetheless, Pakistan’s try was thwarted because the US, UK, France, Germany and Belgium blocked the transfer within the Council.
Sources identified request by Pakistan containing names of Mistry and Dongara had been blocked earlier round June/July and one other try with the remaining two people was blocked on Wednesday.

He mentioned the Indian mission has thanked the Council for blocking “this blatant try by Pakistan to politicise the working of this 1267 process by giving it a non secular color”.
Responding to queries on the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, Mr Srivastava mentioned, “We’re in contact with Pakistan by way of diplomatic channels on this matter and the federal government of India is taking all attainable steps to make sure the security of Shri Kulbhushan Jadhav.”
India has earlier pressed for having an Indian lawyer to signify Mr Jadhav in a Pakistani courtroom when it takes up his evaluate petition towards his demise sentence.
Mr Jadhav (55), a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to demise by a Pakistani army courtroom.
