A jeweller died on Wednesday a day after he was set on fireplace by a shopkeeper in Uttar Pradesh”s Firozabad who allegedly suspected that the sufferer had a bootleg relationship along with his spouse, resulting in her suicide.

“Dying of Rakesh Verma (40) has been confirmed by SN Medical Faculty, Agra. The physique has been despatched for autopsy. The assertion of Verma was recorded earlier than his loss of life,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sachindra Patel mentioned on Wednesday.

The SSP mentioned that 4 police groups have been shaped to arrest the accused shopkeeper, recognized as Robin.

Rakesh Verma was sitting in his jewelry store within the Dakshin police station space on Tuesday afternoon when Robin threw an inflammable liquid from a bottle on him after a heated argument and set him on fireplace, Mr Patel earlier mentioned.

Rakesh Verma suffered 80 per cent burns. He was initially taken to the district hospital from the place he was referred to the Agra hospital in a critical situation, the SSP mentioned.

The SSP mentioned in response to preliminary data, it has come to gentle that Robin’s spouse Puja had dedicated suicide on August 12. He suspected that Rakesh had a bootleg relationship along with her, which led to her suicide, the SSP added.
