BJP veteran Uma Bharti on Friday urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to name off the police who’ve laid a siege across the dwelling and village of a 20-year-old Dalit girl who was allegedly raped and died two weeks later, triggering nationwide anger.
The BJP chief, who’s underneath therapy for COVID-19, posted 9 tweets, requesting the Chief Minister to permit the media and politicians, together with the opposition, to fulfill the household and criticised the haste with which the younger girl was cremated.
“She was a daughter of a Dalit household. She was cremated by the police in a rush and now the household and the village police are underneath siege,” she wrote in Hindi.
“At first I believed that I shouldn’t say something since you should be taking motion on this regard. Nonetheless, the way wherein the police have laid a siege to the village and the sufferer’s household is regarding it doesn’t matter what the arguments in its favour could also be,” Ms Bharti stated.
“I do not know of any rule underneath which a household cannot meet anyone due to a SIT (Particular Investigation Workforce) probe. Doing this could solid doubts on the SIT probe itself,” she stated.
“We now have simply laid the inspiration stone of the Ram Temple and have claimed to deliver Ram Rajya to the nation forward however because of the suspicious actions of the police on this incident, the picture of Uttar Pradesh authorities and the BJP has been hit,” she stated.
