A 50-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli, 690 km from the state capital Bhopal, allegedly beheaded his spouse in entrance of his two youngsters to supply her as a human sacrifice to a deity, police stated.

The incident occurred within the district’s Basauda village. Brajesh Kewat, police stated, killed his spouse Bitti in entrance of his youngsters – Manoj and Surendra – and buried the top and torso individually within the prayer room of his home.

After committing the crime, the accused tried to flee however was arrested on Thursday, police stated.

“He killed his spouse in the midst of the evening and when his two youngsters awakened, he threatened them too. They ran away and knowledgeable the locals,” Arun Pandey, in-charge of a neighborhood police station, stated.

When the police workforce reached his home, the top was buried close to the deity.

Police stated the accused had killed a goat some days in the past over his superstitious beliefs.

Investigation is on.
