A 52-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly posing as an Indian Overseas Service officer and duping folks with bogus authorities job presents, police mentioned on Saturday.

Prem Vakapalli, who hails from Karnataka, used to inform folks he was connected to the ministry of exterior affairs (MEA) as a Class I officer, mentioned Senior Inspector VC Labde of Nalasopara police station.

“He confirmed job seekers pretend IDs, bogus appointment letters and so on. As soon as he collected cash from the sufferer, he would disappear. After one such individual filed a grievance right here, we arrested Vakapalli,” the senior police official mentioned.
