Nagpur:

A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly duping senior residents and others on the pretext of serving to them withdraw cash from ATMs in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, police stated on Wednesday.

Nagpur rural police arrested the accused Mayur Anil Kayarkar, a resident of Ajni within the district, on Tuesday, and seized 27 debit playing cards belonging to others.

“The accused would goal senior residents or these individuals who confronted difficulties in withdrawing cash from ATMs. He would strategy such individuals on the pretext of serving to them. Within the course of, he would hand over a faux ATM card to the person,” a police official stated.

Later, he would withdraw cash from their financial institution accounts, he added.

Together with his arrest, the police claimed to have solved 16 circumstances of dishonest in Nagpur district reported in final two months.
