Centre has no proposal to abolish the Inside Line Allow (ILP) system, G Kishan Reddy mentioned.

New Delhi:

The Centre has no proposal to abolish the Inside Line Allow (ILP) system presently prevalent in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur, Parliament was knowledgeable on Sunday.

In a written reply to a query within the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Residence G Kishan Reddy mentioned the ILP system got here into existence in 1873 with the promulgation of the Bengal Jap Frontier Regulation (BEFR).

“Presently, it’s in existence within the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and elements of Nagaland. There isn’t a proposal with the Authorities of India to abolish the ILP system,” he mentioned.

Mr Reddy mentioned the ILP system was imposed to protect the tradition and traditions of the tribes residing within the space past the Inside Line, safeguard their title to tribal land and shield their assets.
