A 42-year-old man from Odisha was arrested for alleged hate messages on social media (Representational)

Police have arrested a 42-year-old man from Odisha’s Cuttack district for allegedly posting hate messages towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media.

The accused, who belongs to Kusumbi village, was arrested by an Uttar Pradesh Police crew on Thursday.

He has been booked beneath completely different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), together with Part 124A (Sedition), the police stated.

“The Uttar Pradesh Police had sought the assistance of the native police in Cuttack. Our personnel prolonged needed cooperation to the crew to nab the accused,” Superintendent of Police, Cuttack (Sadar), Jugal Kishore Banoth, informed information company Press Belief of India.

A case had been registered towards the person at Singhabali police station within the northern state.

The UP Police crew plans to take the person, who runs a small enterprise in Salipur in Odisha, on transit remand, they added.
