The Odisha authorities has slashed the “Particular Covid Charge” of 50 per cent of MRP on alcoholic drinks to 15 per cent.
In an announcement, the state excise division stated solely 15 per cent “Particular Covid Charge” can be charged on MRP of varied liquor together with beer and wine as an alternative of the sooner price of 50 per cent.
The ”Particular Covid Charge” helped the Odisha authorities to generate income of Rs 200 crores.
“Contemplating the MRP of liquor prevailing In different states and particularly within the neighbouring States and likewise to make sure that no non-duty paid liquor from outdoors the State enters Odisha as a consequence of value differential Authorities has determined to revise the MRP of those alcoholic drinks bought within the State by rationalizing the speed of “Particular Covid Charge” charged,” in accordance with a launch by the excise division.
