One Lifeless, 25 Feared Trapped After Maharashtra Constructing Collapse

Raigad, Maharashtra:

One individual has died and 25 are nonetheless feared trapped below the particles after a residential constructing collapsed in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Monday night. Sixty individuals have been rescued, officers stated this morning.

Three groups of the NDRF (Nationwide Catastrophe Response Drive) had been rushed to the spot after the constructing collapsed final night. The five-storey constructing, which was about 10 years outdated, had over 45 flats. 

Residence Minister Amit Shah described the incident as “tragic” in a tweet on Monday and stated that he has spoken to the Director Normal of the catastrophe response power to offer all doable help.

Visuals from this morning confirmed the rescue groups on the spot. 

Two state ministers – Aaditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde – visited the accident website yesterday. 

A probe into the incident will start after the rescue operations are over.

Those that suffered critical accidents are being taken to state capital Mumbai, about 60 km away, for remedy. 

Final month, heavy rain in Mumbai prompted the collapse of a multi-storey constructing, killing 9 individuals and injuring a number of others.
