Maharashtra Residence Minister Anil Deshmukh on Tuesday stated that he has ordered an inquiry over the assault of the Military Veteran Sonu Mahajan in 2016.

“In 2016, BJP MLA and incumbent MP Unmesh Patil attacked Military veteran Sonu Mahajan. The then BJP Authorities didn’t give justice to Mahajan. I obtained functions on the matter and ordered an investigation,” Mr Deshmukh tweeted.

“The incident happened in 2016 however the FIR was lodged in 2019 following a Excessive Courtroom order and nonetheless no motion has been taken in opposition to the MP,” he added.

Congress chief Sachin Sawant on Sunday alleged that the BJP MP tried to kill the veteran throughout then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ tenure.
