Indore:
Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI) on Friday seized 1733.43 kilograms of ganja (hashish) with a containerised truck and arrested one individual in Bhopal.
In a press launch by DRI, the truck was coming from Andhra Pradesh with Ganja hid in specifically designed and constructed cavity behind drivers.
“The truck was carrying a canopy cargo of empty drums for concealment of Ganja. It was destined for Uttar Pradesh,” the discharge stated.
One individual has been arrested on this case below the Narcotic Medication and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985. That is the best amount of ganja seized by DRI Indore Zonal Unit in a single operation, the discharge said.
Based on the discharge, throughout 2020 DRI has made quite a few seizures of ganja, pseudo-ephedrine, cannabis and so on. in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh through which greater than 20 individuals have been arrested to date for violation of the provisions of NDPS Act.
