NDRF’s rescue operations in flood-hit Vidarbha area of Maharashtra

Eleven rescue and reduction groups of the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Pressure (NDRF), State Catastrophe Response Pressure (SDRF) and the Military, are engaged in Chandrapur and Bhandara districts. After incessant rain through the weekend in east Vidarbha area and Madhya Pradesh, water was launched from varied dams of Maharashtra inflicting floods. Until 1 pm on Tuesday, 53,224 folks from 175 affected villages of the Nagpur division have been shifted to safer locations, the report stated.
As many as 76 villages have been affected in Bhandara district, 61 in Nagpur, 22 in Chandrapur and 16 in Gadchiroli. Two groups of the Military have been deployed in Chandrapur for reduction and rescue work, district catastrophe administration officer, Jitesh Survade stated, including that water has began receding in these locations and connectivity is step by step being restored. Rescue operations are occurring in low-lying areas of Chandrapur; as many as 150 households have been moved to safer locations.
