A 65-year-old businessman was rescued by police within the early hours on Saturday from the Harikud police station in Odisha’s Sambalpur after he was allegedly kidnapped.

Sambalpur Superintendent of Police (SP), Kanwar Vishal Singh mentioned that the person, Naresh Agarwal, was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by three individuals on Friday whereas on his method to Sasan to take inventory of boundary building work on a patch of his land.

“Whereas he was overseeing the work, three individuals got here in a automotive at round 12:30 pm and punctured the wheels of the businessman’s automotive. They threatened him with a gun and took him away,” he mentioned.

Performing on a criticism lodged by the person’s driver, police registered a case and swung into motion. They performed raids at numerous locations.
