A particular operations group (SOG) workforce of the Uttar Pradesh Police was attacked by some individuals when it had gone to arrest a person needed in a homicide case right here, police stated on Sunday.
The incident passed off Saturday night when the workforce tried to apprehend one Shahid, a resident of Sarai Kaaji locality within the Kotwali Nagar space, needed in a homicide case, they stated.
As quickly because the accused, his brothers and a few four-five males noticed the police, they began fleeing. When policemen tried to cease them, they attacked them with bricks and stones, Superintendent of Police (Metropolis) Atul Kumar Srivastava stated.
The policemen needed to fireplace some rounds: within the air in self defence, he stated.
Shahid jumped into the Kali river and escaped, Mr Srivastava stated.
