The Delhi Metro shall be ready to renew operations each time directed by the federal government, the DMRC mentioned on Sunday.
The assertion from the Delhi Metro Rail Company (DMRC) got here on a day Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal mentioned metro prepare providers in Delhi must be resumed on a trial foundation because the COVID-19 scenario was bettering within the metropolis, and hoped the Centre would quickly take a choice on it.
“The DMRC shall be ready to start operations each time directed by the federal government. The Delhi Metro has been closed since March 22 when the Janata Curfew was imposed within the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and subsequently the nation-wide lockdown.
Whereas the financial system has slowly opened up in phase-wise method within the unlock interval since June, the DMRC has not obtained a nod from the Centre to renew operations.
In the meantime, from thermal scanners to check temperature of commuters to stickers on social distancing norms pasted on seats and platform flooring, Delhi Metro has been making ready to deal with commuters as per security tips, each time the providers are ordered to be resumed.
On common days, the typical every day ridership of DMRC is over 26 lakh.
