Suspended AAP councillor Tahir Hussain acquired money from “doubtful entities” and hawala operators and used the cash to “gas” anti-CAA protests and riots in Delhi in February, the Enforcement Directorate stated on Monday.
The Central probe company had arrested Hussain final week and a neighborhood courtroom on August 28 despatched him to ED custody for six days.
The company on Monday introduced him to its workplace in New Delhi from Tihar jail for interrogation.
Hussain, the company stated, has been “arrested in reference to ongoing PMLA investigation into his function in cash laundering and funding of anti-CAA protests and organising riots in north-east Delhi throughout February, 2020.”
The ED had booked Hussain and others below the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act (PMLA) after learning a number of FIRs of the Delhi Police’s crime department to probe the riots.
