Chief Minister Okay Palaniswami on Tuesday urged the Centre to sanction a scheme for rejuvenation of river Cauvery which is estimated to value about Rs 10,700 crore and take it up as a nationwide undertaking.

In a digital assembly with Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Mr Palaniswami stated he had introduced a rejuvenation plan of river Cauvery ”Nadandhai Vaazhi Cauvery,” on the traces of Namami Gange Mission.

“Estimate has been ready for Rs 10,700 crore and WAPCOS (a techno-commercial agency underneath the Centre) is getting ready the DPR. Cauvery is the lifeline of Tamil Nadu, not just for agriculture, but in addition for ingesting water.
