Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav on Tuesday mentioned satellite tv for pc monitoring of trains has improved effectivity in prepare operations amid coronavirus pandemic.

“Satellite tv for pc monitoring of trains has improved effectivity in prepare operations: Round 6,500 locos (electrical and diesel) are already geared up with World Positioning System (GPS), about 6,000 locos to be geared up by December 2021,” Ministry of Railways tweeted.

Amid the pandemic, the Railways has elevated the freight loading visitors together with the common pace of freight trains.

“The freight loading was three.13 million tonnes on July 27, which is greater than final yr for a similar date,” the Railways said in a launch.

The typical pace of freight trains in July is 45.03 kilometre per hour which is round double compared to final yr for a similar month (23.22 kmph).

Earlier within the day, Union Minister Piyush Goyal had mentioned that Railways is making strides in the direction of enhanced freight transportation.
